You have probably heard it many times before, but the Alaska Department of Fish and Game is again hoping to spread a message as bears wake up from hibernation — "Please do not ever run from a bear," said department biologist David Battle.
According to Battle, two people have had recent encounters with black bears in Anchorage.
"In both of those cases the person did run from the bear initially, and so that could have been a factor in both incidents," said Battle.
