The Anchorage Police Department has confirmed the person killed in an officer-involved shooting Sunday was a teenager. Police say he was 16 years old.

On Sunday, officers pulled over a Ford Taurus at Fifth Avenue and Reeve Boulevard around 3:30 a.m. There was one man driving and four others in the vehicle.

"The preliminary investigation found that during the traffic stop, a male passenger in the back seat produced a gun and fired multiple shots at officers," police said.
