King salmon start running up Ship Creek, which his certainly a sign of summer eager anglers hoping to land a big catch.
Ship Creek is Anchorage’s urban fishery and boasts annual returns of hatchery-reared kings each summer as well as silvers and pinks.
The Bait Shack owner Dustin Slinker said the first Ship Creek king was caught on Wednesday by Jimmy Vue, whose brother caught the Ship Creek King of the season last year.
